Conceived jointly by violinists Movses Pogossian & Kim Kashkashian for Tigran Mansurian's 80th birthday, the Con anima project brings a dedicated cast of players to perform the Armenian composer's chamber music. The emphasis is on newer pieces but there is a timeless quality to his work, which resounds with the spirit of his homeland. Sonata da Chiesa is dedicated to the memory of his enduring inspiration, Komitas; Agnus Dei and Die T„nzerin are influenced by the culture of Armenian music.
