The forthcoming release from the third member of Future 3, Jesper Skaaning (aka Acustic), has been anticipated for some time. The last time he released a full solo album was in 1998 (Star Quality), and we are therefore proud to announce Acustic’s third album, entitled ”Welcome”, this time released on Rump Recordings.
On ”Welcome” we once again encounter the strongly melodic approach to electronica, which has been Skaaning’s trademark, both as a solo artist and as a part of the group Future 3.
Future 3’s last album (released under the name System in 2002) was deliberately stripped of melody and was more like an exploration of the three basic elements of the dub-genre: bass, reverb and delay. ”Welcome” on the other hand is a return to the irresistable riffs and melodies which we might expect from Skaaning, only this time presented in a slightly more experimental sound universe.
In contrast to the previous Acustic records, where the tracks were often built around repetitive loops or based on riffs instead of actual melodies, the new material seems more complete and at the same time the sound is characterized by greater edge.
With his sense of harmony, and his consciously minimalist approach, Skaaning constructs a sound which is forthcoming without trying too hard to please.
The quirky blend of electronica offered on the album ranges from the light-hearted moods of ”Farfisa 2” and ”Flow” to the more melancholic moods of ”VM” and ”Gram”.
The track ”Ose 2” was originally released in a different version in 2004 on a compilation from ElectrAros called ”Dansk Lyd”.
Acustic Biography:
Jesper Skaaning began his musical carreer as a guitarist in various experimental punk bands in the early eighties. Inspired by european electropop and especially Kraftwerk, he formed the band Acustisk Ungdom, which he later took his name from.
In 1994, he formed Future 3 together with Anders Remmer (aka Dub Tractor) and Thomas Knak (aka Opiate).
With their cool minimalism and their intelligent mix of dub and ambient, Future 3 made quite an impact on the electronic scene at that time. After Kruder and Dorfmeister listed Future 3´s debut album as one of their top 5 albums of all time, the trio were catapulted into the collective conciousness of lovers of electronic music. Later on they were invited to release an album on the renowned Scape label of Stefan Betke (aka Pole), which resulted in the System release.
Since 2000 Jesper has produced two split E.Ps on thomas Knak´s label Hobby Industries, as well as producing the danish band Superjeg.
At the moment Jesper is working together with guitar and bassplayer Djon on the sideproject Spring, which is a return to more guitar oriented material with discrete use of vocals.

Alex Puddu, urodzony w Rzymie muzyk do¶ć szybko, bo w wieku 19 lat wyemigrował do Kopenhagi. W niedługim czasie stał się jedn± z centralnych postaci skandynawskiej sceny easy-listetning/downbeat. Singiel ""Going away"" z płyty ""Speed Freak Jive"" odnosi wielki sukces. Kolejna płyta ""Star 70"", wydana w 2000 roku ugruntowuje pozycję artysty. Cały czas koncertuje w Skandynawii, Francji, Wielkiej Brytanii, Niemczech, Włoszech...Hiszpanii.
W 2002 roku wydaje “Time to grow” z przebojowymi singlami ”Blue Sky White Sand” i ""Back to you"". W 2003 roku powołuje do życia zespół Alex Puddu and the Butterfly Collectors, z którym nagrywa do dnia dzisiejszego. Debiutuj± na scenie w legendarnym Copenhagen Jazz House w listopadzie 2003.
W 2004 ukazuje się debiutancki kr±żek zespołu ""Chasing the Scorpions Tail"" dla wytwórni April, często porównywanej z niemieckim labelem Compost.
Płyta zbiera doskonałe recenzje, Trzy miesi±ce póĽniej wytwórnia japońska Ward Records wydaje płytę w kraju kwitn±cej wi¶ni.
Alex Puddu często zapraszany jest do pracy producenckiej, pomaga The Breakers, Neon Machine, Bahnhof, Lupus, Girls i wokalistce Sophie Dornoy, dla której pisze piosenki.

Banzai Republic to trzyosobowy didżejski kolektyw, Buddha T. Seltzmayer, Jon A. i Kenneth Bager. Ten ostatni to założyciel wytwórni Music for Dreams, doł±czył do zespołu jako ostatni. Wszystko zaczęło się od niezobowi±zuj±cego spotkania, po wysłuchaniu kilku utworów panowie przypadli sobie do gustu i nawi±zali owocn± współpracę. Razem wydali debiutancki singiel „In my Home”, pierwszy singiel w historii Music for Dreams, od 5 lat klasyk muzyki chill-outowej, warto posłuchać doskonale zsamplowanej Mahali Jackson. Sukces dodał chłopakom skrzydeł. Okazało się nagle, że wszyscy chc± ich remiksów oraz współpracy. Od takich legend jak Laid Back i Sergio Mendez do mistrzów portugalskiego fado - Madredeus, specjalistów od muzyki house Filur and Weekendplayers a nawet Cirque du Soliel oraz Santos - oto lista najważniejszych współpracowników zespołu.
Wci±ż jednak był przed nimi debiutancki projekt do zrealizowania. Tytuł albumu „Where the fun starts early in the day” mocno skupia się na życiu i uczuciach Banzai. Dwuletnia praca nad albumem przyniosła znakomity efekt, członkowie zespołu mog± być zadowoleni z wszystkich dziewięciu utworów składaj±cych się na kr±żek i mamy nadzieję, że znajdziecie w nim takie same upodobanie jak my.

In the autumn of 2005, Denmark’s Radio broadcast a documentary series: They Made History, a series of ten interviews of persons who have left their mark on history conducted by journalist Steffen Kretz. Bliss, comprised of the composer-producer team Marc-George Andersen and Steffen Aaskoven, was given the assignment to compose the musical score for the series. Bliss’s minimalistic but at the same time expressive music is a natural choice for film and TV, where music should emphasize a mood without diverting attention from the visuals.
Together with Steffen Kretz, they reviewed video clips and discussed the program’s qualities and basic ideas. Especially because it was possible for Bliss to work with the 70 members of the Radio Symphony Orchestra.
”To begin with, we composed mostly instrumentally in a combination of classic, atmospheric, chill out and world music – pretty much diversified music but with ‘mood’ as the coherent factor.
."" Eventually we also included vocals in our music and today, Bliss is sometimes supplemented by the West African singer Tchando and the Swedish singer Alexandra Hamnede.”
The resulting CD, They Made History, is an album of 17 beautiful numbers that uniquely and evocatively merge Bliss’s background in classic-, film-, jazz- and electronic pop music with the string section of the Radio Symphony Orchestra.

Frontera´s sound is best described as a mixture between Balearic disco and spacy melodious chords. The productions are aimed at dancefloors in a sweaty club as well as being a supreme listening experience in private.
Frontera is a studiobased project made up by the producers and Djs Pete Herbert and Phil Mison. The two met when Phil was holding residency at Cafe del Mar on Ibiza and Pete was selling records to him in Soho, London. This was just prior to Pete Herbert opening his Atlas records vinyl emporium.
For the last ten years both Pete and Phil have pursued international Dj-careers turning them into their own musical projects. Phil Mison as Cantoma on Music for dreams and Pete Herbert as both Optimus on the Eskimo label and Cuica on the California based Ubiquity records.
This release features 10 tracks bursting with pent-up electrofunk energy as heard in the titletrack; ”Nature” where deep basslines, filtered synth chords with added echo and a shuffling rhythm constantly paces the track.
The track ”Everything changes”, build upon a solid foundation of programmed beats, live percussion, a repetitious bass and a filtered delicate female vocal on top of the mix, seducing the listener into the outskirts of thoughtfulness.
Even Grace Jones gets a tasty rework on the copy/paste board with a low-key synthbased version of ”Walking in the rain”.
Furthermore the duo have been busy producing under the moniker; Reverso 68. On Pete´s Specialist label they have released the single ”Piece together”. A release which brought international attention to the project as well as attracting remix assignments for the likes of Juan Maclean (DFA), Manhead (Relish), Laid back (Flex), Bent (Ministry) and Stratus (Klein).
With this their first full album they offer a refreshing take on melodious electrofunk.

Captain Europe is the second album from Hess Is More - founded and directed by the danish artist Mikkel Hess.
2005 was the year when the Hess Is More live band really took of, presenting the music from the album ""Tip Top Dynamo"" in a line of festival performances that blew away audiences as well as critics in and outside DK.
Futher more in 2005 the discerning DJ’s around the globe has playlisted the single ”Walk song” into a underground cult hit.
Now Hess presents the follow up as a european captain, ready to conquer new territory.

Członkowie zespołu Luke przed nagraniem płyty „Guaratiba” wyjechali na kontrakty didżejskie do Brazylii, byli rezydentami najlepszych klubów Rio de Janeiro. Pod palmowymi drzewami, nad brzegiem oceanu wymy¶lali nowe pomysły, na które niebagatelny wpływ miała ojczyzna Ronaldihno. Helge Tommervag from Kristiansund on the west coast of Norway has been working with electronic music since the early 80’s, and he debuted on Beatservice with the Elektrical Activity EP-series in 1995.
His fifth album Monopoly picks up the threads from the Project 3 album (2002), with its combination of arctic ambient and Berlin-minimalism. This time focused more on ambient soundscapes, with hints of the “classic” elektronica of early Aphex Twin. The compositions are shorter and more focused, and the feel of the album is somewhat lighter.
He is also continuing his collaboration with the Berlin-based Jamaician Paul St. Hilaire (The Artist Previously Know As Tikiman) on the track Ital Swing, and his buddy Stein Bjercke from local rock combo Lorenzo contributes on two tracks. Jazz trumpet player Nils Petter Molvar also contributes on Breathing Thru Me.

On ”Balearic biscuits” Music for dreams has yet again compiled a selection of 13 superb tracks with a great international feeling and the sound of party clubbing.
As always with Music for dreams one should expect daring and bold takes on todays now sounds as producers and musicians unfold their creativity. It is quite simply put music with a high ”feel good” level.
The compilation kicks off with Austrian Marcus Füreder aka Parov Stellar who has lately made a name for himself with his unique productions. Using elements of jazz, swing and house Parov stellar is guaranteed to deliver funky and tight productions. On ”Balearic biscuits” you will find two examples of his productions, showing off his amazingly creative productive skills.
Bang Bang aka Xavier Jamaux is a french trip-hop musician whom among others have worked with Alex Gopher and AIR. Here he is represented with the electro-rock track ”Shoot the model” which is a super catchy and engergetic hybrid reminiscent of Bowie.
Germany’s Shantel has to be this compilations most curious track, and this is said in good faith. As the track Mahalageasca unleashes its heavy tubainfested riff and clarinets weaves in and out of the cachophonic beat it is like attending a funky Balkan clubnight. Guaranteed wall to wall smiles here.
Dino´s – Call me is a groovy and witty example of urban cookness. Not oftenly does one hear catchy non-instrumental whistle but when added to a simple foundation of beats, bass and triangle this updated take on punk-rock turns into a groovy bittersweet story of lost love. Even monkeys are more thoughtful.
From a basement in Stockholm comes the brother and sister producer team Karin and Olof Dreijer aka the Knife. They put out sublime machinebased electro-pop. Their lyrics deals with political issues and their music is fast becoming Sweden’s next big export article in the party category. Included here is the track ”Pass this on”, which backed up by a surreal and catchy video from the outbacks of Sweden has generated a huge interest. Check out the use of a steeldrum in the groove.

Rumpistol’s second album is in many ways a more demanding and challenging experience than his critically acclaimed debut from 2003.The melancholic melodies and warm harmonies, which played a big part on the debut, have receded into the background on ”Mere Rum”, and a more experimental approach to both sound and rhythms has emerged. Several technical upgrades have made it possible for Rumpistol to add an endless amount of layers to his productions. The result of this is a deeper and more detailed sound that neither ends up being too polished nor too bombastic. We find ourselves, therefore, on the (artistically) difficult border between pop and experimental music, and yet still ”Mere Rum” appears as a homogeneous record where sound coheres throughout the album.This is heard, among other things, this time in the instrumentation which is characterized by the use of hand played instruments such as glockenspiel, melodica, kalimba, saxopohone and especially guitar. This, however, does not mean that rumpistol has left the electronica-genre in favour of e.g. folkmusic but that the electronic element is very much present in the way that the acoustic elements are treated. The instruments are run through the machinery, where they get cut up, tweaked, stretched and filtered in imaginative ways.The influence from the dub-genre is present on all the tracks like on the debut, and the rhythms are once again buildt up around dry clicks and adapted concrete sounds.Last but not least, it´s worth mentioning how the music has evolved from being downbeat to upbeat. ”Mere Rum” might not be a pure dance record, but it is definitely more beat oriented than what we might usually expect from Rumpistol. SEKTEN is a six piece band with members from Sweden, Denmark and Norway, ready to release their passionately odd debut album. Though their existence has only been a few years, the reputations about this Copenhagen based ensemble and their distinguished yet slightly bizarr concerts has spread through the Scandinavian underground jazz scene, creating a curiosity and amazement along their way.
A great part of SEKTENs vision is to create a universe where the listener is invited to be part of a naive-abstract story. Managing to entwine the contrasting pieces of music in an elegant and suprising way, their debut album ”Annars är det tyst” appears to be a modern ten piece suite, perfomed by six great musicians.
They have an incredible way of colouring the music in each of their own way, due to their different musical backgrounds, still all of them with a clear connection to various forms of improvised music.
This ensemble consists of two female singers, that performs dark and light contrasts both soundwise as well as in matter of atmosphere, a guitar player with a flair for buttons and weird noises, a bass player with both intense minimalism and a ragged expression, a lyrical and contemplative piano player with a focus on prepared piano and finally a drummer that has a unique understanding of groove and timbre.
The music is influenced by various genres such as jazz, minimalism, chansons and all sorts of noisy music. The swedish lyrics combined with made-up words and sounds, creates mysterious and at times humorous and slightly happy stories.
The album is written and produced by all the members of SEKTEN, and the ten songs include both thorughlly arranged and entirely improvised parts. An album that spans from beauty to manic, from intimacy to aggression, letting the listener in to an unforgettable musical experience.

It has been almost three years ago since the very well reviewed debut album of Sofus Forsberg “NO/1” was released. In the mean time Sofus has been playing a lot of tours around Europe, and contributing to a lot of different compilations, among others the Sonar festival compilation 2004.
The second album from Sofus Forsberg “Udefra” could be described as a mixture of the cream of Nordic electronica and a great deal of complex details as you would find on an album of Autechre. But still the tracks are unique and varying and the focus is being directed at both melody and impeccable atmosphere.
The sound of Sofus Forsberg is melancholic, clean and cutting-edge.
The debut album got quiet a lot of airplay on a diverse number of radio programs around Europe, especially in Germany and he’s live show from the Sonar festival was sent at the BBC radio1 by the legendary John Peel.
The entire album “Udefra” is produced recorded and mixed by Sofus Forsberg himself with exception from the last track which is a remix of the Danish group under byen. This is just one long track with a heavy manipulation of the singer Henriette Sennenvaldt, who was also performing at the debut album of Sofus Forsberg.
Sofus Forsberg was among other things performing at Sonar festival last year and during the last couple of years, he has been performing at plenty of venues in Germany, Belgium, Norway, Sweden, England and more. Expect to see him in Poland, England, Belgium, Germany and other countries in the forthcoming year.

Untraditional variations of ragtime, beautiful impressionistic landscapes and a wild energy heard seldom in a Danish jazz trio, makes the Soren Kjargaard Trio a very interesting rising on the scene, and the double release of “Amfebia” and “Akustika” calls for a new sound of the classic piano trio setting. Amfebia, which was recorded in the beautiful sounding concert hall of Borups Hojskole in Copenhagen, is, as the title points out, an amphebic experience. Na najnowszej płycie zatytułowanej “Balk’n’Roll” kopenhaskie etno-jazzowe Swing of Sahara serwuje gor±ce, bałkańskie rytmy prosto z nocnego klubu, w którym jazz traktowany jest bardzo nieortodoksyjnie.
Album „Balk’n’Roll” powstawał zarówno w trasie koncertowej jak i w studiu nagraniowym. Daje to wybuchowy efekt, koncertowe, chropowate szaleństwo zostało nieco okiełznane delikatnym, studyjnym szlifem.
Na płycie z niezwykł± swad± zespół miesza, ł±czy i rozgniata dĽwięki na drobny mak by złożyć z tego wyborn±, wielo-kulturow± strawę.
Swing of Sahara powstał w połowie lat 90 tych, kiedy to Andreas Ugorskij oraz Peter Bobronyi wpadli na pomysł aby bałkańsko-cygańsk± muzykę zderzyć z jazzem. Wiele zacnych, jazzowych autorytetów do dzisiaj krzywi się na takie pomysły, Andreas Ugorskij i Peter Bobronyi niewiele sobie jednak z tego robi±.
